HEY GUYS. THIS IS PARTICULARLY IMPORTANT. PLEASE GIVE THIS A READ.
It’s that time of year again and the great rumbling beast that is NaNoWriMo is drawing ever closer, crawling over the horizon like a earthy colossus. Note, the folks who run NaNoWriMo, the Office of Letters and Light, is a nonprofit organization, which means that they run entirely on donations and fundraising in order to run their events for eager writers all over the world.
WHICH IS WHAT I’M HERE FOR.
As an avid participant and 6 year veteran of NaNoWriMo, I’m joining in the cause to help raise funds for my favorite yearly event. It’s because of NaNoWriMo that I’m a better writer, a better planner, and a better person, and I look for any way to give back to the folk who’ve pushed me each November to write chunks of my upcoming novel Blood of this Earth. It’s not only for me and the company that I aim to raise funds for, but countless other writers in the world, each and every person from young writers who will one day continue the tradition to old writers who have a life’s worth of stories to tell. I believe that, through storytelling, we can make the world a better place. It starts with us, but it can be helped along by supporting groups like the Office of Letters and Light.
THE GOAL:
To raise at least $250 by the deadline for NaNoWriMo’s Night of Writing Dangerously, a huge event where 200 insanely dedicated writers converge for an all out evening of nonstop writing, caffeine, and more caffeine after having raised money for the Office of Letters and Light. My goal this year is not only to raise $250, but to raise as much as humanly possible. NaNoWriMo means a lot to me, it’s really had a profound impact on my life and my being, so I want to give as much as I can to the effort.
But I can’t do it without you guys. So if you’re down for helping the cause, for instilling the creative spunk in the masses, for encouraging people to do something more with themselves than just sit around, actually DO something with their time, and for the sake of spreading the importance of imagination, please spread the word and help with what you can.
Storytelling is all around us, guys, it’s practically what we breathe. We love storytelling, from you who loves Homestuck to you who loves old Shojo, from you who loves Disney, from you who loves The Lord of the Rings, and from you who loves Dr.Who and you who loves X-Men, as well as you who loves Sherlock Holmes and Good Omens. These are all stories that have touched us, somehow instilled in us that little something that makes us better people. Let’s keep the stories going, guys, there are so many stories yet to be told, and we can be the ones to set them rolling! We can be the next greatest story tellers. We can be instill those little somethings that makes people better. We can make the world a better place.
It all starts with us. We have the power. It is us.

I am far too lazy to do NaNo, as everyone who knows me knows, but click on the charming picture to donate if you enjoy reading or writing and can spare some cash!
